What Changed A Lindsay Clancy Juror’s Mind During Deliberations
A fourth female juror who served in the Lindsay Clancy trial has admitted that her decision to find the defendant not guilty by reason of insanity was rooted in her desire for Clancy to get mental health help, not necessarily the evidence presented in the case.

“Originally, I felt as though she was guilty and she was criminally responsible for it, and maybe I still believe that in a certain way,” the female juror told CBS Boston. “I think that this was a woman who, you know, was not mentally healthy. She was someone that was in the throes of a significant mental health crisis, so I really just felt like she was so deep in it that she couldn’t see her way out. And so this was the only option.”
Further explaining her decision to vote not guilty, the juror said that she thought justice for the Clancy family, including the three murdered children, would look like Clancy getting mental health services, which the juror said are not available in prison.
“At the end of the day, there was so much doubt … there’s too much grey area,” she said. “And eventually I felt like the only way to get justice for Cora, Dawson, and Callan and Patrick and her parents and everyone that was closest to her, was to get her the help that she desperately needed, and there’s no way she’s getting that help in a prison.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the woman rebuffed conspiracy theories online that claim Patrick Clancy, the defendant’s ex-husband, had something to do with the murders of the children.
“I will never be the same after that 911 call,” the juror said. “After the trial, I saw all the conspiracy theories about how Patrick did it and he somehow convinced Lindsay that she did it when it was really him. And all I could think was that, if these people could have heard that visceral, blood-curdling scream … I will never be the same after that. It was horrifying.”
Clancy, who has admitted to killing her three young children by strangling them with exercise bands on January 24, 2023, used an insanity defense to try to evade criminal liability in the triple-murder trial. The trial ended in a mistrial after the jury deadlocked following days of deliberations. According to female jurors on the trial, this was due to a lone male juror who refused to agree that Clancy was not guilty by reason of insanity.

As highlighted by The Daily Wire, remarks from three other female jurors are turning heads too. For example, one juror told News 10 Boston that the holdout juror on the case was “arrogant” and said he would not listen to the female nurses on the panel who gave him information about a toxicology report presented in evidence. “They spoke to that specific thing, the question that he had [about the toxicology report] — he just completely disregarded the information that they gave.”
CEO and co-founder of The Federalist Sean Davis said the remarks exposed “something of a major bombshell.”
“One of the jurors admits that multiple nurses on the jury used their experience and medical background to ‘explain’ toxicology reports to the holdout juror,” Davis wrote on X. “I showed that clip to a trial attorney who immediately saw it as an admission that the pro-Clancy jurors were using outside information and evidence from outside the trial process to bully a juror toward a particular outcome.”
Another attention-grabbing moment was when the female foreperson admitted that she rushed to sign a not-guilty by insanity verdict when she claims the lone holdout juror expressed reasonable doubt. The male juror has not shared his side of events, but he appears to have rushed to stop her before she submitted the verdict.
Others online noted their concern about the female jurors’ admissions about how charmed they were by Clancy’s defense attorney Kevin Reddington and their description of the state being too “harsh” with Clancy.
