Grace revealed that she was texting Metcalf during the murder trial of Karmelo Anthony and asked Metcalf what he was hoping for in terms of a prison sentence for Anthony. Metcalf responded with something unexpected \u2014 he said what he was hoping for was that his late son would walk through the door.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou said, \u2018The jury is deciding punishment as we speak,’\u201d Grace said on \u201cCrime Stories with Nancy Grace,\u201d recounting the pair\u2019s text exchange. \u201cI wrote back, \u2018What is your hope?\u2019 I was referring to, \u2018What do you think would be a fair sentence?\u2019 And what you wrote back \u2026 \u2018That my son will walk through the door again.’\u201d<\/p>\n

In tears, Grace noted that she was with her twin children when she was texting Metcalf, making her even more emotional. Austin is a twin; his brother Hunter Metcalf held Austin in his arms after he was stabbed and fighting for his life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will never forget it, because I was with my twins, as you know,\u201d Grace said.<\/p>\n
