Speaking at the Michigan Democratic Party Jewish Caucus\u2019s \u201cSummer Simcha\u201d fundraiser on Sunday, El-Sayed apologized for offering \u201ccontext\u201d for the attack by pointing to the assailant\u2019s family being affected by fighting in the Middle East and saying that \u201churt people hurt people.\u201d<\/p>\n

He claimed he would \u201ctake it all the way back\u201d if he could and insisted he never meant to defend terrorism.<\/p>\n
