Mia Terrazas, who lived in the same West Hollywood apartment complex where the \u201cHeroes\u201d star lived with on-again off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson, said that she\u2019d seen Panettiere taken from the building by first responders on two occasions \u2014 and that the actress had appeared to be \u201cbattered\u201d both times.<\/p>\n

Terrazas told entertainment outlet Page Six that firefighters had been called to their location on July 29, 2023, and again on January 16, 2024 \u2014 and that when they took Panettiere off the premises, Hickerson had been \u201cglued\u201d to her side. The actress, she said, had visible \u201cbruises\u201d and \u201cbright red spots\u201d when she was wheeled away.<\/p>\n

The neighbor said that she worried about the actress \u2014 with whom she\u2019d spoken on a number of occasions \u2014 and was afraid of Hickerson.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was just so lovely \u2026 and just seeing her and passing frequently and, you know, the little chats that I had with her \u2014 she made such an impression, and she was such a bright light,\u201d Terrazas said of Panettiere, who died last Sunday at the age of 36.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrian always seemed to be high or disconnected. He just kind of had this odd, flat effect, I guess I could describe it as. Hayden sometimes would seem out of it,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

In April 2021, Hickerson pleaded no contest to felony domestic abuse charges of corporal injury to a spouse\/cohabitant in which Panettiere was the victim \u2014 and at the time, Panettiere was granted a five-year protection order against him.<\/p>\n

In 2025, after Hickerson had been seen trespassing on the West Hollywood property, the Home Owners\u2019 Association responded by putting up posters warning residents not to allow him to enter the premises. After about a week, the posters were taken down.<\/p>\n
