Heroic Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers on duty arresting illegal immigrants stumbled upon a 2-year-old wandering the streets in nothing but a dirty diaper and stopped what they were doing to rescue him, The Daily Wire has learned.<\/p>\n

On July 13, ICE officers conducting a \u201croutine enforcement operation\u201d outside Nashville in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, an area with a large population of illegal immigrants, were stopped in their tracks when they saw a small child who was wandering alone in the road in a heavily soiled diaper and was almost struck by a passing vehicle, the agency said. It appeared that the young child had been roaming the streets for several hours without any adult supervision.<\/p>\n

The ICE officers, some of whom are fathers, quickly took the child into safety.<\/p>\n

Officer Michael Joyce, who is part of an ICE Nashville Fugitive Operations Team, said the young boy was standing in the middle of the parking lot when he arrived. The brave officer blocked traffic while his team called local police and located the child\u2019s mother, who was asleep in a nearby apartment with the door wide-open.<\/p>\n

She appeared to be unaware that her son had wandered off.<\/p>\n
