She claimed that the state\u2019s Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) registered roughly 6,600 non-citizens who indicated their status while applying for IDs and driver\u2019s licenses between June 2023 and June 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese individuals answered \u2018no\u2019 when asked on a keypad whether they were a U.S. citizen when applying for drivers\u2019 licenses and identification cards, but through no fault of their own, the system registered them anyway,\u201d Sherrill wrote in an X post.<\/p>\n<p>Sherrill blamed her predecessor for the purported mistake.<\/p>\n<p>The Garden State\u2019s election office is investigating the voter rolls to remove any non-citizens, Sherrill said during a Tuesday press conference.
